Rangers Report – October 2011

After almost a month away we returned unexpectedly to daylight saving and spring seemed to have instantly arrived. Kowhai, rewarewa, whau, clematis and numerous little orchids, to mention a few, have all been putting on a great show.

 

Some of you may know that Cathy and I have been away in the States visiting one of our sons. America is a huge country bustling with activity but here is a sobering thought – per square kilometre we already have half their population density. Economic growth in the western world is to a large extent based on population growth but as a country do we really want to follow that model too much further – I know which lifestyle I would rather have!
