Looking through the diary it has been a busy time since my last report in November. We managed to get a couple of weeks off for Christmas/New Year and had a very nice break with lots of family and friends visiting.
We also had an opportunity to help with some very interesting work on the local offshore islands. Cathy and I both went out to Taranga (Hen Island) before Christmas assisting a PhD student with her continuing tuatara study and also working with Ngatiwai field staff. While there we were also able to GPS and report on some of the known grey-faced petrel breeding sites to help an Otago master’s student set up her research project.
